What If No One Answered The Call? Volunteers Needed

Have you ever stopped to think about what happens when you call 911 for fire and emergency services?

Do you take it for granted that someone is going to come and resolve the issue?

Do you know who the people are who respond to your call for help?

It's understandable that people don't give much thought to any of the above questions. We're busy. We have crazy lives and schedules that we are trying to keep up with and the fire department is pretty much out of sight, out of mind.

Until you need us.

In the Sykesville and Eldersburg area, the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department provides top notch volunteer fire and emergency services to the community. We have a well-trained group of men and women who stay up-to-date on the latest standards and technology to ensure that we are prepared for whatever we asked to respond to.

We also have a dedicated group of volunteers in support and administrative roles that help keep the department operating. From our carnival to hall rentals to fire and life safety education, these members play a vital role in our organization.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join the ranks. Whether you are interested in fire suppression, EMS or an administrative or fundraising role, we would love to have you.

We've been volunteering since 1933, and our future is bright. We're here if you need us.
