Liberty Road Crash Sends Four To Hospitals

At 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 12, Sykesville crews were dispatched to a vehicle collision on Route 26 (Liberty Road) at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Arriving units found three vehicles in the roadway, blocking both lanes of travel, with a total of four patients.

Crews immediately went to work stabilizing vehicles and assessing patients. Maryland State Police - Aviation Command Trooper 3 transported one patient to Shock Trauma, while Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department and Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company transported the other three patients to local hospitals.

Liberty Road was closed for approximately 45 minutes until the scene could be cleared.

Approximately 15 Sykesville volunteers responded to the incident along with Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland career personnel. Maryland State Police are investigating the crash.
