Around 1230 in the afternoon Tower 12 was alerted to respond to the working garage fire in Reese’s first due. Tower 12 responded with 4 volunteers. Once on scene crews assisted with overhaul and checking for extension. Duty 12, staffed by Captain 12-2, also responded and functioned as the safety officer for the incident.

A little later just before 4 pm Tower 12 and Chief 12, responding as Battalion Chief 3, were alerted for a attached garage fire in Mount Airy’s first due. The tower assisted with opening up and checking for extension. Chief 12 operated as part of the command team. Rescue Squad 12 and Chief 12-1 were also alerted as part of the rapid intervention dispatch but were cancelled enroute to the scene.
