On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Sykesville and mutual aid units were alerted for the reported house fire with possible entrapment on Circle Drive off of Route 32.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a basement recreational room. One occupant had exited the home while another was still inside. Firefighters removed the occupant and placed both into the care of EMS. Both were transported to Carroll Hospital Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down and there were no injuries to personnel.

Approximately 12 volunteers responded to the call along with Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland career staff from Station 12.

The cause is under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
