Very sorry to hear about the loose of your station. In 2004 before I joined the department I currently work with we had a fire which originated from one of our ambulances. Now 6 years later our department has grown and has come closer together not only as a department but as a family. I hope that your department comes back just as strong and hard it will take time but it will get there.

I want to send out my prayers to all our members and paid personel that worked so hard to save the firehouse. The command did an EXCELLENT JOB as well as the many many fire fighters that helped!!! I am so thankful that everyone is ok. All that I can say is "That which does not kill us will only make us stronger"
We are all family and with the love and support we can overcome and still provide the EXCELLENT SERVICE that you all do everyday!!!!!
I am proud to say that I am related to someone that is a part of this great service to the community.

My husband and I were awakened by the scanner yesterday morning, February 11, 2010, only to learn that your beloved firehouse/community hall was burning. I have enjoyed many happy hours dancing in the community hall, helped a dear friend of mine with a fund raiser when her brother was dying of cancer, and had your courageous members come to my rescue to assist with our Gamber VFD years ago when we suffered a chimney fire in the dead of winter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your courageous members. We know it will be hard, but, together, we will get through this too.

God be with you as you rebuild your facility.

Adrienne

We were devastated to hear about the firehouse and so grateful that no one was hurt. Our family is at the fire house at least a couple of times a year for various events you sponsor. You've answered a call to our home and my parents home. Our son has a life threatening allergy that requires immediate medical attention if he has a reaction. You've walked him through the ambulance so he knows what it's like. You've reassured him that you have everything he needs in case you have to get him to the hospital. You do so much for our community. When you are able to, please let the community know how we can help and suport you as you rebuild.
Many, many thanks and God Bless.

Glad no one was hurt when your Community Building was destroyed. If there is an up side to this, now you can change things around and do changes to your building to better serve the community and amke things easier while fund raising. Best of luck for your brothers to the West.

I'm sorry for the tragedy that came upon the Sykesville/Freedom District Fire Department today. It was my privilege to be able to travel from Annapolis to come out today to meet with Chief Ruch, President Shiloh and Vice President Kreimer. It was amazing to see how the fire fighters from around the region came and assisted in bringing the fire under control. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just read about the station collapse. Having grown up in Sykesville/Eldersburg, I wanted to pass along my best thoughts and well wishes to your team. You've been there many times throughout my childhood. I wish there was something more I could give back in your time of need. If anyone can overcome this, it's you folks. Take care and be safe.
